More traumatised pets than usual

A Christchurch vet says he has treated an unusually high number of traumatised pets since Saturday's earthquake.

Dr Andrew Hay, who works at an after-hours vet centre, says the number of cases involving stressed and traumatised animals has been unusual.

Meanwhile, the SPCA is urging people whose pets have not returned since the quake to contact them.

It also wants people who have noticed stray animals to drop them at either the city pound or the SPCA.
