Christchurch people want more input in city's rebuilding

Christchurch City Councillors and local MPs say its community does not feel like its voice is being heard by local and central government.

A public forum was held on Saturday afternoon to discuss the rebuilding of the city.

Christchurch Central MP Brendon Burns and Green Party MP Kennedy Graham say some communities feel estranged from the decision making process.

A Burwood-Pegasus councillor agrees and says the community feels it is being told what is best for them.

Chrissie Williams says she hears criticism all the time that people are not getting the information they need.

She also says a way needs to be found for the community to have more input into the decision making process.
