Another quake zone open again

Christchurch people have reclaimed another part of their city, with the opening of the most eastern restricted zone to the public.

Zone 7a, a small riverside area on the Avon Loop, opened on Tuesday morning. It was the third zone to be cleared in four days.

It includes parts of Cambridge and Oxford Terraces and means most of Salisbury Street is now open.

Three areas remain cordoned off, including the Red Zone, which contains the Cathedral and Cashel Mall areas.
