A sport and recreation group has been set up in Christchurch to help the industry get back on its feet following the February earthquake.
The Sport and Recreation Earthquake Leadership Group includes representatives from Sport Canterbury West Coast, Christchurch City Council and SPARC - and each has a specific role to play.
Sport Canterbury West Coast is assessing damage to sports grounds, while the council investigates Christchurch's sports facilities and infrastructure.
SPARC is seeking advice from colleagues in Australia who coordinated a similar recovery after the floods in Queensland.
