5:32 am on 10 April 2018

After a night that netted four Commonwealth Games golds and two silvers, Tuesday sees the beginning of the road cycling and the end of the swimming.

New Zealand is now 4th on the medal table, behind Australia, England and India.

Rowing convert Hamish Bond and defending gold medallist Linda Villumsen compete in the road cycling in individual time trial.

Swimming bronze medallist Lewis Clareburt and Brad Ashby compete in the 200m individual medley, and para swimmer Jesse Reynolds swims in his best event, the 100m backstroke.

Reynolds is ranked fourth in the world in the event.

Boxers David Nyika and Alexis Pritchard both have quarter-final bouts and shooting, bowls, hockey and beach volleyball continue.

Squash gold medallist Joelle King and silver medallist Paul Coll will get no chance to rest, with King beginning women's doubles with partner Amanda Landers-Murphy, and Coll starting men's doubles with Campbell Grayson.

They also play together in the first round of the mixed doubles today.
