Former New Zealand First MP Ron Mark is the new mayor of the Carterton District Council.
Mr Mark says he hopes to boost the Carterton's economy by attracting more people to the district.
Hutt City mayor
Ray Wallace has been elected mayor of Hutt City, defeating the incumbent David Ogden.
Mr Wallace received 15,500 votes about 5000 more than Mr Ogden.
