New Zealand runner Nick Willis is comfortably through to the final of the men's 1500 metres at the London Olympics - the event in which he won silver at Beijing four years ago.

Willis was untroubled to come third in his semi-final. He looked very comfortable and appeared to be running well within himself up the home straight.

It was the fastest of the two semi-finals and with a time of 3min 34.7sec, Willis will go into Tuesday's final with the third fastest time.

Morocco's Abdalaati Iguider won that semi-final, with Kenya's Silas Kiplagat second and fellow Kenyan Nixon Chepseba fourth.

Taoufik Makhloufi of Algeria won the other semi-final in 3min 42.24sec.
