Korea beat Japan 2-0 to claim bronze in the Olympic men's football tournament at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff on Friday.
Scorers for Korea were striker Park Chu-Young in the 38th minute and captain Koo Jacheol at 57 minutes.
A late header by Japan skipper Maya Yoshida was disallowed.
rivalry between the two nations threatened to boil over when Koo became the third Korean player in 30 minutes, after Ki Sungyueng and Oh Jaesuk, to be booked for fouling.
Brazil will play Mexico in the final at Wembley on Saturday.
