Two charities to benefit from Movember campaign

The moustache-growing fundraising drive Movember will run again in New Zealand this year, but this time two charities are set to benefit.

Movember Foundation chief executive Adam Garone announced on Tuesday that New Zealand's Cancer Society and the Mental Health Foundation would be recipients of funds raised during the campaign.

Mr Garone says the charities submitted excellent proposals on how they would use the money to make a difference to men's health.

The campaign has raised almost $3 million for the Prostate Cancer Foundation over the past two years, but the foundation withdrew its involvement earlier this year after a disagreement with organisers about how the funds were to be spent.
