Police investigating a series of arsons in the Christchurch suburb of Aranui have made an arrest.
Officers carried out a search warrant at a property in Aranui on Wednesday morning and arrested an 18-year-old man.
Police say the man admitted to being the author of the DTek tag which they had recently publicised in connection with the arsons.
The tag has been left more than 100 times on properties throughout the city.
The man will appear in court on Thursday charged with intentional damage. No charges of arson have been laid.
Meanwhile, police have arrested two people, aged 12 and 14, in connection with a suspicious fire in Cashel Street in the suburb of Linwood on Tuesday.
The arrest is not connected to the arson inquiry.
