Tony Veitch's home searched by police

The police in Auckland have carried out a search of the home of former Television New Zealand and Radio Network presenter Tony Veitch.

He resigned from his roles after revealing last month that he was involved in an incident with his former partner, during which he said he "lashed out" at her.

The woman, Kristin Dunne-Powell, later laid an assault complaint with the police.

The police have been investigating the allegations since Mr Veitch's public statement.

Mr Veitch's spokesperson Glenda Hughes says a number of items were taken from his home, but he was not questioned.
