A man is in a serious condition in Hutt Hospital following an assault by a group of men and women.
The 28-year-old was attacked on Cambridge Terrace in Lower Hutt about 2.30am on Sunday. He was left unconscious, with serious facial fractures.
Two men, both aged 23, are due to appear in the Lower Hutt District Court on Monday charged with assault.
Police say they want to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident or aggressive behavior in the area at the time of the assault.
They are also interested in sightings of a white 1992 Toyota Corona driven along Cambridge Terrace early on Sunday.
