Two men charged with killing a Sri Lankan immigrant at Oxford, west of Christchurch, appeared in the Christchurch District Court on Tuesday.
Viraj Alahakoon and Thuvan Sawal are accused of murdering Sameera Chandrasena and setting his house on fire three weeks ago.
They have been remanded in custody without plea to appear again in June.
