Police appeal sightings of Porirua robbery

Police are appealing for sightings of a male after an aggravated robbery in Porirua a week ago.

On Sunday 11 March a man entered the Daji Foodmarket Dairy in Titahi Bay with a tomahawk type axe and demanded cigarettes and cash.

Police say the offender is a 17 or 18-year-old Maori or Polynesian and was wearing a short sleeved white and red-checked shirt over a red sweatshirt.

He also had a white t-shirt covering his hair and a red t-shirt around his mouth and nose.

The police say he is about 177 centimetres tall and of athletic build.

The female dairy owner was shaken but unharmed,

Police have released CCTV images of the robbery, and are hoping that someone may recognise the man.
