A capuchin monkey on the loose in Christchurch has been found.
The female, named Minty, escaped on Wednesday from Willowbank Wildlife Reserve while being transferred to a new monkey enclosure.
A couple walking a dog on Saturday morning spotted her up a tree and alerted staff from the reserve.
Willowbank's spokesperson, Kathy Rangiwananga, says after being offered a peanut, Minty jumped out of the tree onto a keeper's shoulder.
Ms Rangiwananga says Minty is thinner than usual, and was fed a large meal and checked over by a vet on her return.
She says staff were extremely concerned about Minty's welfare, especially because of the recent severe frosts in Christchurch.
