A police search for a suspected gunman at a Christchurch school has ended.
The search began after reports of a man walking through the Burnside High School's grounds with a gun.
Students had reported seeing a young man carrying a silver pistol about 11am.
Police say there are no reports of him having presented the gun or threatening anyone.
They say they will keep a couple of officers in the area as a precaution.
