Flexible work option for employees

The Government says all employees are going to be given the right to ask for flexible work arrangements.

Flexible work is currently only available to employees who are caregivers.

Labour Minister Kate Wilkinson says, however, a review of workers' rights has found strong support for the move.

She says the review found those who were able to work flexible hours were more satisfied with their work-life balance and that it delivered positive business benefits as well.

Ms Wilkinson says staff retention improved as did employee motivation and motivation

Ms Wilkinson says a law change will be made later in 2012.
