Tsunami warning systems will be tested on Sunday in Northland and Auckland.
Tsunami sirens will sound in coastal locations in the Whangarei and Kaipara districts at 9.20am and again at 10am.
In the Auckland region, sirens will sound for 15 seconds at 12pm in coastal areas and around harbours.
The sirens will be accompanied by flashing blue lights in some places.
The tsunami warning text message service will also be tested at 12pm for Rodney residents who have registered with civil defence.
