Two foreigners have been arrested in connection with an art scam in Upper Hutt.
Police say a Chilean woman, 33, and an Israeli man, 23, have been charged with obtaining by deception.
They say the woman and man were selling art door- to-door and tricking people into believing the pieces were worth more than they actually are.
Senior Sergeant Brent Murray says the pair appear to be behind a similar scam in Nelson and the public should be wary of similar offers.
The Department of Immigration has been notified of the arrests.
