More drugs and firearm arrests

More than 160 people throughout the North Island have been arrested on drugs and firearms charges.

Wellington, Central, Eastern, Bay of Plenty and Waikato areas were targeted as part of Operation Safe Home.

Detective Superintendent Paul Kench, says a similar operation resulted in about 150 people being arrested before Christmas.

Those arrested in the latest operation face charges in relation to burglary, receiving stolen goods including vehicles, firearms, and drugs, including cannabis and methamphetamine.
