Earthquakes were felt in Canterbury, Hanmer and Twizel on Friday morning.
Hanmer Springs felt a magnitude 3.3 quake at 4.07am, and there was a magnitude 3.9 tremor north west of Christchurch at 9.49am.
A magnitude 4.5 earthquake occurred 30km west of Twizel at 11.05am. It was 5km deep.
Police say no damage has been reported.
