A 41-year-old man is in hospital after a stabbing in a Wairarapa town.
Police say the victim was involved in an altercation with another man outside a house in Kent Street, in Carterton, at about 10.20pm on Saturday.
The man was stabbed in the chest and stomach and is in a serious but stable condition in Masterton Hospital.
Police are asking any witnesses to come forward.
