Police in Hamilton have yet to formally identify a body of a man found in a car at a city shopping centre on Tuesday morning.
The area was cordoned off to allow for a scene examination but both the car and the body were then taken to the central police station to minimise any further disruption at the shopping centre.
A post mortem will be held Wednesday morning to establish the cause of death.
The body was discovered just before 8am on Tuesday in a silver Toyota.
Radio New Zealand's reporter at the scene said the vehicle was parked in the middle of a nearly empty Clyde Street Shopping Centre car park.
