KidsCan is warning that its name is being used in a telephone scam to solicit money from people.
Chief executive Julie Chapman says members of the public have been called by people pretending to be from the charity organisation.
Ms Chapman says the group may also be using the name of other charities to try to gain access to people's credit card details.
She says KidsCan has never and will never solicit donations by phone.
