Police say a massive blaze on the outskirts of Invercargill on Saturday afternoon was deliberately lit.
Fire police are guarding the site where a large pile of tyres was set alight, burning a shed to the ground.
Three fire engines and two water tankers were called to the blaze at Rockdale Road.
It took three hours to put the fire out.
A fire service inspector from Dunedin is to investigate the blaze.
