The police in Wairarapa have arrested and charged three teenagers in relation to a crime spree in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
Detective Sergeant Tracey Calder of the Wairarapa CIB says it's alleged the 14, 15 and 17 years olds stole two cars in Masterton before breaking into a bottle store where alcohol was taken.
He claims the trio then drove to another bottle store in Carterton, and rammed the front window with one of the cars, but fled when the alarm went off.
Mr Calder says a series of petrol drive-offs occurred in Masterton and Carterton before the car headed to Wellington where it was stopped by Upper Hutt police mid-morning on Tuesday.
He says those arrested face charges including burglary, theft and unlawful taking.
He says further arrests are likely.
