Police in Nelson have seized 12 cars in 24 hours as part of a crackdown on boy racers.
They say 15 loss of traction charges for incidents such as burnouts have been laid along with two charges of reckless driving.
Senior sergeant Dave Gibson says if racers have already been warned they could face the ultimate punishment of having their car crushed.
Those charged will appear in the Nelson District Court this week.
