The Defence Force is marking its 30-year commitment to a peace treaty between Egypt and Israel in the Sinai Peninsula.

A multinational force and observers group, which includes New Zealand personnel, has been working to maintain peace between the two countries since 1982.

Currently 28 New Zealand staff are involved in training local troops.

The Defence Force says the group's work has been critical in improving dialogue between Egypt and Israel.
