Strike not affecting 018 service - Yellow Pages

4:11 pm on 26 September 2008

Yellow Pages says its 018 directory service has not been affected by strike action taken by some of the service's call centre workers in Palmerston North.

Sixty-one members of the Engineering, Printing and Manufacturing Union walked off the job at midday on Friday after a breakdown in pay talks with Teletech, the company contracted by Yellow Pages to shift the directory service to the Philippines.

A Yellow Pages spokesperson says the 018 service has been operating as usual on Friday.

The spokesperson says the company will not comment on the strike action as it is an employment issue between a contracted company and staff.

Attempts to reach Teletech for comment have been unsuccessful.
