The Hurricanes have thrashed the Melbourne Rebels by a franchise-record 66-24 in their Super Rugby clash in Wellington on Saturday to keep their play-off hopes alive.
The home side were deadly on turnover ball, scoring five tries to two before half-time when they led 38-17 and they ran in four more tries, with Julian Savea bagging a hat-trick.
The Hurricanes other tries were scored by Andre Taylor (2), Alapati Leiua (2), Jack Lam and Chris Eaton, with nine conversions by Beauden Barrett, who also kicked a penalty.
For the Rebels, Cooper Vuna got two tries and Adam Freier the other. Kurtley Beale scored two conversions and a penalty and Richard Kingi hit a conversion.
Lam's side get another dose of the Blues
In Auckland, the Highlanders beat the Blues 27-20, after leading 15-6 at halftime in their Super Rugby match.
For the Highlanders, Tamati Ellison, Hosea Gear (2) and Adam Thomson touched down, with Chris Noakes hitting two conversions and a penalty.
Tevita Mailau and Tony Woodcock scored for the Blues with conversions from Gareth Anscombe and Lachie Munro, and two penalities for Anscombe.
