Conchords, Opshop clean up at NZ music awards

Comedy duo Flight of the Conchords and pop rock band Opshop have cleaned up at this year's Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards.

Both groups each took out four tuis at the ceremony at Auckland's Vector Arena on Wednesday.

Flight of the Conchords won best album, best group, breakthrough artist of the year, and an international achievement award.

Opshop took out the prestigious single of the year, highest selling single, New Zealand album and Radio Airplay record of the year.

Liam Finn won best male solo artist, with best female artist going to singer-songwriter Anika Moa.

Straitjacket Fits has been honoured for its contribution to local music, receiving a legacy award and being inducted into the New Zealand music Hall of Fame.
