MetService has issued severe weather warnings for much of New Zealand on Saturday, with strong winds, snow and heavy rain expected.
A severe gale warning is in place for Canterbury, Marlborough, Wellington and Wairarapa and a heavy rain warning has been issued for Fiordland, Westland and parts of Otago and Canterbury.
MetService also expects up to 3cm of snow on the Lindis Pass and Milford Road on Saturday evening.
