Police say a woman who was shot in the head on Saturday evening night is in a critical condition in Hawke's Bay hospital.
The woman, 27, was found by her partner at her home in Kereru, south west of Hastings, just after 6pm and was flown to hospital by helicopter.
No arrest has been made and police are not looking for anyone in relation to the incident.
