Police believe a Masterton man who has been missing since the weekend may have sailed his yacht to the Marlborough Sounds.
Brendon Gordon Eagle, 35, suffers from depression and anxiety and left his home on Saturday without medication.
The man is an inexperienced sailor and recently bought a yacht, a blue and white H28.
Detective Sue Mackle says the boat was towed to Waikawa Bay after breaking down on Sunday.
Neither Mr Eagle nor the boat have been sighted since then.
Police say Mr Eagle's family have growing concerns for his well-being.
