Police in Wellington are appealing for information about a Chinese national who has been missing for seven years.
Lei Nie, also known as Andrew Nie, was last seen in the Christchurch area in May 2005.
He was in the country on a work visa, which has since expired.
Detective Sergeant Corey Watts says there is no evidence that Mr Nie has been the victim of foul play, but he was having financial difficulites at the time of his disappearance.
He says Mr Nie may still be in the country or have returned to China.
Mr Nie, who will now be 32, also had connections in Wellington and Bay of Plenty .
