Police on the Kapiti coast are investigating an arson attack which has destroyed a large storage container in Paraparaumu.
Police and the Fire Service found the container, which was full of building equipment, ablaze on an empty lot in Ihakara Street early on Sunday morning.
Senior sergeant Alisdair Macmillan says fires were deliberately lit outside the container causing it to ignite and damage more than $10,000 worth of building tools.
He says police are working with the owner of the container, who is considering a reward for anyone who can offer information about the arson.
