Magic conjure up win in final seconds

The Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic have won a bruising ANZ netball championship sudden-death playoff, beating the Adelaide Thunderbirds 49-48 in Hamilton.

The Magic's 10th straight victory on Monday night looked far from assured after they blew an eight-point lead in the second quarter and only got back in front in the last 30 seconds of the match.

Silver Ferns veteran Irene van Dyk was again 100% accurate in the circle, shooting 28 from 28.

The Magic play the Northern Mystics in Auckland next Monday for a place in the final in Melbourne against the Vixens.
