The family of author Margaret Mahy will hold a public service to celebrate her life and work, in Christchurch on Wednesday afternoon.
She died in Christchurch last week, aged 76.
The service, which is being organised by her daughters Bridget and Penny Mahy, is being held at the Hagley Park dome.
The service will include performances from school choirs as well as reminiscences by friends and the literary community.
Ms Mahy's life will also be celebrated on Saturday in Auckland at a memorial gathering.
The service will begin at 2.30pm in the Auckland Town Hall.
