Rotorua police are investigating the alleged sexual assault of a woman by two men in a central-city park.
Detective Senior Sergeant Zane Smith says the local woman, who is in her forties, says she was walking through Kuirau Park between 2.30am and 3am on Thursday when she was grabbed by two men and assaulted.
She asked members of the public for help, and they called police.
Police say the attack occurred about 30 metres from the roundabout intersection of Ranolf St and Arawa St.
The victim has told police her two attackers were Maori, and aged between 20 and 30.
Mr Smith says police want to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time.
