Meseret Defar of Ethiopia won the Olympic women's 5000 metres title at the Olympics in London on Friday in a time of 15 minutes 4.25 seconds.
Defar also won in 2004.
She overtook 10,000m gold medallist and compatriot Tirunesh Dibaba in the home straight for victory.
Vivian Cheruiyot won Kenya won silver in 15.04.73 as Dibaba, the 2008 Olympic champion, faded to finish third.
