Building and resource consents for a house for sex offender Stewart Murray Wilson, who is about to be released from prison, are still not approved.
Whanganui District Council must decide on the building consent application by Wednesday and the resource consent by Friday.
It's understood the council lacks any legal reasons to decline the consents, given that the house is to be placed on land owned by the Department of Corrections.
The department is meanwhile refusing to answer questions about contingency plans, if consent is not be approved in time for Wilson's release on Wednesday.
