Police say the freeze on their road policing budget will not be a hinderance.
The Transport Agency, which funds road policing from the National Land Transport Fund, has allocated $300 million a year for the next three years.
This past financial year, $302 million dollars was available to road policing.
The Green Party says the funding freeze will cut deep and could lead to fewer officers on patrol.
In a statement, police say they have to live within the existing budget as does every other Government department.
They say there will be no reduction in headcount and frontline service delivery will be maintained, and even enhanced, through a variety of initiatives such as mobile technology.
