Police say a post-mortem on the body of an Upper Hutt woman has failed to determine the cause of death.
The 38-year-old was found dead in an Upper Hutt house on Thursday night.
Detective Senior Sergeant Dave Thornton says the death remains unexplained and further inquiries will be made over the weekend.
Mr Thornton says police are working to piece together the woman's movements before her body was discovered by family members in Ebdentown Street about 10.15pm.
A scene examination has been carried out at the woman's flat.
