A woman accused of taking a baby from its mother in a Christchurch hospital has been remanded to a psychiatric hospital for assessment.
The woman, who has name suppression, appeared briefly in Christchurch District Court on Thursday.
She is accused of depriving a mother from her two-day-old child at a private hospital on Wednesday.
She will reappear in court on 18 December.
