Public help sought to identify man

Police in Christchurch are appealing for help from the public to identify a young man, whose body was found in the grounds of Waimairi Cemetery, Burnside, on Saturday.

Detective Senior Sergeant Tony Hill said the body was found by a member of the public about 8.30am.

At this stage, there are no indications of suspicious circumstances and the death has been referred to the Coroner.

The man's description does not match any current missing person reports.

The man is described as Caucasian, about 18 years of age, of slight build, weighing approximately 70kg and about 1.75 metres tall, with brown short dreadlocks.

He was wearing a black zip-up hoodie, a black T-shirt, long grey trousers and black trainers.
