A Christchurch City Council committee has voted for an urgent review of chief executive Tony Marryatt's performance agreement.
Councillors at the Community Recreation and Culture Committee on Tuesday discussed the $80,000 communications audit released in July this year which found that many people saw the council as an isolated fortress and did not trust it.
The vote comes just days after it was revealed that Mr Marryatt had settled a personal grievance dispute with the council following criticism over his $68,000 pay rise.
The committee voted on Tuesday to include communication standards in Mr Marryatt's performance review.
Chairperson Yani Johanson says the recommendation will be presented to the council at the end of September.
Restoring community facilities discussed
The council has been discussing the importance of rebuilding key community facilities not already included in the city's annual plan.
The 25 key developments proposed include Akaroa Museum, libraries for the Sumner and Linwood communities in the east, communities swimming pools, and the Sign of the Kiwi and the Sign of the Takehe buildings.
Another community centre in the west of the city and volunteer libraries are being considered for the list.
Councillor Yani Johanson says communities need this help to recover from the recent earthquakes.
