Christchurch police want information on two aggravated robberies that left four men with minor injuries early on Saturday morning.

One man was assaulted by up to four others at the Shand Crescent Reserve on Riccarton Road just after 2am.

Police have described the offenders as Polynesian - one wearing a white dress shirt with thin checks or pinstripes and another wearing a blue dress shirt and jeans.

A short time later, three men were assaulted by a group of up to eight others on Clyde Road.

One offender is described as a young Maori with short dark hair, a shoulder-length "rat's tail" to one side and wearing a white t-shirt.

Police say the attackers left in a silver or gray Subaru sedan and a gray "boxy-style" sedan.
