Canterbury, Auckland to get social housing funding

The Canterbury and Auckland regions will receive a large chunk of government funding for new social housing.

The Government has set out its plan for allocating $100 million for non-Government housing providers in the next three years.

Canterbury and Auckland will each get $21 million for housing projects.

Social housing on Maori land and for Maori providers has had $14 million set aside.

Housing providers can apply for funding from 8 October.
