Family members questioned over injuries to baby

Police in Kerikeri are continuing to interview the family members of a 15-month-old baby, who is in a critical condition in Starship Hospital in Auckland.

The boy was flown there from Kerikeri on Friday night.

Police are still trying to confirm how he came to have what they described as horrific, non-accidental injuries.

He has undergone surgery and is expected to survive, but it's likely he will be blind and permanently brain damaged.

Inspector Chris Scahill said on Monday that it is clear the injuries were caused by another person.
