Police hand out pamphlets at Auckland pubs

4:40 pm on 13 October 2012

Police distributed pamphlets about the dangers of alcohol and sexual assault to pub-goers in Auckland city on Friday night.

Officers from the adult sexual assault team and volunteers from various agencies distributed the brochures at bars and restaurants.

The police say the aim of the exercise was to remind people about the effects of alcohol on decision-making.

The main message of the pamphlet is 'no consent equals no sex'. It says if a woman can't stand up, or is slurring her words, the answer is no.
